For this collaboration it was a challenge to incorporate an illustration of Miffy that would honor Dick Bruna's work, without making it childish. With a moonphase I incorporated Miffy and made it kind of functional and playful at the same time. During the month she slowly goes away and comes back again. To highlight the luxurious feel, Miffy was etched out of brass, polished and silver plated. It is filled with blue paint and after that it is hand filled with Superluminova in the correct Dick Bruna colors. It takes one hour to fill all the stars and Miffy with super luminova under a microscope. Also the entire dial is painted in the correct Dick Bruna blue color. The entire dial is made in house (Superluminova application was done by RC Tritec). The movement is a converted Sellita SW288-1. In order to fit the movement and moonphase, the Amalfi was almost completely converted. I had a new sapphire front glass made, a closed caseback and a new movement ring (all specifically for these 25 pieces).
